Novel Three: Day Five
Another Solid Day…
(As a reminder, the overall monthly challenge is to write four novels and gain distance every week on my step count, starting the first week at an average of 11,000 steps per day.)
Only made 10,000 steps, but writing is back going fine.
The Day Went Like This…
Just like yesterday, I managed to get to WMG offices and the north store around 3:30 p.m. after a full hour of e-mail stuff. I stopped at the mail and we finally got in all of the Fiction River papers. So Josh and I unloaded my car and I headed out to do banking and get to the south store.
I came back around 5 a.m. and went for a walk to get steps.
I got back to WMG around 6 p.m. and spent until 7:30 there working on workshop stuff.
Then to the grocery store and home to take a ten minute nap, then cook dinner.
I got in here to do more e-mail and do reading for the challenge at 10 p.m.
Right at midnight, for the second day in a row, I made myself stop and move over to my writing computer.
I managed 1,100 words by 1 a.m., then took a little longer break to watch some television.
Back at 1:45 and I got 1,300 words done before 2:45 a.m.
Short break, another 1,200 words done before 3:30 a.m.
The book was hammering forward just like last night. Not a clue where it is going, but it is hammering forward.
After another short break, I had another 1,300 words done by 4:30 a.m.
Short break, another 1,400 words.
Then, as I was trying to do this, my server for this website went down and I spent thirty minutes on the phone before they could get it back up. Hoping it stays up.
6,300 words in 5 sessions.

Are there really still two spots in Allyson’s workshop? I was thinking about taking it, but I don’t really have a series yet, and I wasn’t sure it would be a good use of my time and hers. But if there are spots open, I might anyway.

Yes, there are, (surprised us) and it starts on Wednesday. It will be fine even if you are only thinking something you are doing might go to a series. Also, just getting the information and doing having a template and doing a couple covers off the template will ease fears going forward of covers. And if you write fantasy, this will help you understand more how to sell it.
