Nifty View On Two Weeks Ago

Yes, Not Even Two Weeks Ago…

Fantastic writer and now editor, Ron Collins has decided to take a look at the very whacked-out Anthology Workshop we do every year. And this year we just finished it not even two weeks ago.

This year he and his wonderful daughter, Brigid, were co-editing a volume of Fiction River. And they did great and it was great fun having them in the mix.

Ron has also attended as a writer for about six years and Brigid for three or four at least. So they had an idea what they were walking into. Sort of. It is always different on the editor side of the table. (grin)

So if you want a really fun sense of what the entire week was about and why I seemed scattered here at times (more than usual), read Ron’s blogs on the topic. I have no idea what he is going to say, but knowing Ron it will be clear, blunt, and honest. And that is worth everything in this business.

His first blog is up here:

Promotions Package

We offered at Superstars ten spots in the Promotions Package over the ones we had signed up and only one person jumped on board. So at the anthology workshop we offered the still open spots that no one at Superstars wanted and only one person jumped on board. (We spent a bunch of time trying to figure out how to add in those ten spots before we offered the openings.)

So we are closing this off for the last time here in the next few days and we schedule all the packages of those signed up. We have had one sign up since yesterday is all.

And today we had a large meeting at WMG going over what will be offered in the packages and how we will be putting them all together. And I learned stuff. The WMG staff are amazing folks.

So Last Call!! If you are interested in having WMG Publishing do an entire promotions package for one of your novels, jump in now. (First read what it is about at Promotions Post and then write me.)

That’s THIS week, on Thursday morning. I just finished up recording the Adding Tension and am almost done with the Making a Living topic. I think they are going to be pretty cool, to be honest. And only four quick days.

INSIDER’S GUIDE Workshops Now Available…

— Insider’s Guide to Selling Short Fiction in 2018/2019 (Starts April 8th)
— Insider’s Guide to Writing Successful Space Opera (Starts April 8th)
— Insider’s Guide to Writing Serial Fiction (2,000 word parts of a novel) (Starts May 6th)
— Insider’s Guide to Writing Detective Fiction. (Starts May 6th)

Got some questions on these and a bunch of sign-ups. They are going to be fun. So let me give you the top questions I got.

Question #1… Can I record the live webinar sessions? Yes, but not going to because there will be a bunch of people on the feed. So not going to happen. And nope, I doubt these will be come classics in any way.

Question #2… Timing on the webinar parts? I got more details on the post yesterday, but here is the timing. Short Fiction at 11 a.m. Sunday West Coast Time. Space Opera at 1 p.m. West Coast Time. The recorded parts and assignment will open up on April 8th, first Webinar on April 15th. And so on. The two May workshops follow the same pattern.

Question #3… Will they be on Teachable.com? Yes, the basic stuff will be there in a few days to sign up as well as better descriptions, but the best way right now is to sign up by writing me and paying the fee through Paypal to make sure you have a slot.

Question #4… How do Lifetime Subscribers sign up? You don’t have to. You are automatically in, no limits, although there aren’t that many Lifetime Subscribers yet. When I get the workshops loaded to Teachable I will automatically load it into the Lifetime Subscription.

That’s it. Good questions, writers signed up on all four new workshops. Kris and I are excited to put these together.

$300 each, limited to ten writers plus lifetime subscribers. One time workshops. They will not be regular. Sorry. These will fill so don’t wait for the last minute on these.
