Challenge,  On Writing,  publishing

Eight In Eight Days

Still Going Along Strong…

The next few days with all the workshop stuff will be an interesting challenge, then after that things smooth out and I will have time to get to not only more writing, but packing. Not much of that the last few days, other than I have managed to get stuff out of this house every day. That’s something.

Onward.

The Day

Got up around 10:30 a.m. mostly not able to sleep any longer after only five hours. Couldn’t shut off the brain.

Then I headed to WMG offices to work on Pulphouse. I did that until the writer’s lunch, which was great fun today. A bunch of good topics.

Then back into my office there to work on Pulphouse layout until 8 p.m. when my eye went south on me and I had to shut it down with only about an hour to go to finish. Tomorrow.

Home to eat some dinner, watch a little television, take a nap, do email and then by 12:30 a.m. I was sitting at my writing computer with not a clue what to write. And I was really tired from the hours at the computer at the office (almost seven hours) and the hours on email and stuff (2 more hours at the computer). My one eye needs to rest at times.

Story #8…

At 12:30 a.m. I grabbed my title sheets to look for half titles to trigger me. I spotted “The Woman Who…” and then a short time later spotted “…the Time.”

So I slammed them together as “The Woman Who Knew The Time” and started typing.

At once I had the main character on Bryant Street, but from there the story twisted and twisted and twisted. I ended up on Bryant Street just fine, but this might be the start of a new series. Oh, joy, that’s what I need. (grin)

I had 1,100 words done by 1:30 a.m. Took a short break.

Then I was at 2,100 when I took another short break at 2:15 a.m.

Then I finished the story at 3:15 a.m. at 3,200 words.

Covers will be done when I get time over the next few days. Three Bryant Street stories, two Poker Boy stories, a Marble Grant story, a Thunder Mountain story, and a Seeders Universe story. All over the place with this challenge it seems.
