Beautiful Trophy Challenge Is Back!!!
Last Day to Sign Up for Kris Sprint Challenge.
Starts tomorrow.
The challenge is to write as many consumable words from Monday, December 18th through December 31st 2023 as Kris writes.
What are “consumable” words?
— Any fiction of any type (no requirement to publish during the challenge time) Rewriting does not count. Only the final publishable words.
— Any nonfiction that others will consume such as blogs, introductions to collections things like that.
You can NOT count emails and comments on Facebook and other social media or comments on blogs. They do NOT count.
No genre limitations.
Rules
1… Every day Kris will send a letter through the class email system to just those in the challenge talking about the words she wrote the previous day and her experience. There will be a running count on the class of Kris’s total words every few days.
She will not talk about the content of what she is writing. And neither should you talk about your content.
2… The cost is $300.
(No credit from anything, I am afraid. Can’t buy in with credit to get more credit.)
3… If you do NOT write as many words as she does in the two weeks, you get $300 credit toward any online teaching, such as Pop-Up series or lectures or classics or lifetime workshops.
So in essence, you are buying at least $300 credit and getting the chance to watch Kris and see how you stack up against her writing output.
4… If you beat Kris’s word count at the end of the 14 day sprint, you get $600 in credit for anything on Teachable to be used at any point for anything in the future (except other challenges.)
Kris will report each day about her previous day’s writing through the email program in the Teachable class, but only to those in the challenge. You report in at the end.
5… On January 1st you will report to Dean your word count in the 14 days to get your credit. Kris and Dean both will go over the results.
Kris is excited to do this. She usually doesn’t do challenges, let along talk about her progress and word count, but since the two of us are both coming out of a long fall, she thinks this two week challenge sprinting to the end of the year will be great fun.
This is a win/win/win challenge. Jump in, should be fun and get your writing fired up for the new year! And you get an up-close look at how Kris writes on a daily basis.

Dean Challenge 2024
The Great Dean Challenge was to write more consumable words from April 1st 2023 to December 31st 2023 than Dean. Dean got off to a slow start and just as he was picking up speed into the last three months, he fell while running a 5K run and smashed his shoulder. He now has a new Titanium shoulder and will be getting back to writing in 2024.
So a lot writers beat him in that first challenge and he would like a year-long rematch in 2024. That’s what this challenge is all about. Can you produce as many words as Dean in 2024. (Or half as many. Either one.) Remember, Dean is still in PT for his shoulder and will turn 74.

Rules of Turn-In
1… Every month (or more often if it helps you) you must send me an email giving me your word count. I do not want to know what you are writing, just how much.
The cost is $600. ($300 for the half.)

If you miss and give up at any point, or do not beat me at the end of the year, you get credit in the amount you paid toward any online teaching, such as Pop-Up series or lectures or classics or lifetime workshops.
So in essence, you are buying at least credit plus a major focus to keep writing new words.
If you beat my word count by the end of the year, you get your choice of any Lifetime Subscription WMG Publishing has to offer. (except the Everything Subscription.). That is for the full challenge and double the amount you paid in credit for the half.

My Side…
I will do a weekly (or at least regular) video giving you my word count, as well as post it on my blog on the right side. I will also do some motivational videos at times just for fun. Not every week, but as things come up.
So, in Summary…
The Dean Challenge 2024 is you writing more than I will write in consumable words for the year of 2024.
— Cost is $600 for full and $300 for half. If you don’t beat my word count you get all that in Teachable credit.
But you get even more if you beat my word count and you get a hand-blown glass float from the Oregon coast as a trophy. A very beautiful trophy.
