Aces Won… But Sloppy…

Aces Advance to the Semi-Finals in the WNBA

Seven straight seasons. But the game on Sunday Seattle just outplayed the Aces to barely win. Tonight’s do-or-die game the Aces were sloppy everywhere except for Wilson and barely escaped with the win. Barely.

I really love to watch great basketball, so I hated the first half of the season when the Aces were just sort of making the motions and very, very sloppy all the time. Just hard to watch.  Until at home the Lynx toasted them by 50 plus points. That woke them up and they played fantastic basketball as they can do with the level of talent they have.  They won the next 17 in a row and finally lost to the Seattle Storm on Sunday.

Tonight the Storm got them back playing sloppy with good defense. Not sure how or why. Even ten year old kids are taught to box out. Sigh…

So now they face an Indiana team that just upset Atlanta. Indiana has an entire bench full of injured players (including Caitlin Clark) and yet still managed to beat Atlanta twice.

So on Sunday if the Aces come out sloppy again, we might be in trouble. We come out playing like the fantastic talent we have on that team, Indiana won’t stand a chance.

Worth watching and fantastic fun to have season tickets to.

Iowa boy here, therefore Caitlin fan. But I admire the Fever for carrying on and putting together a competitive team out of “who’s available this week?” It’s a tough ask to get by the Aces though. (I wonder if Caitlin over-trained last off-season?)
